The New Shelfari Widget
Tonight we launched the new Shelfari widget. It allows bloggers and social network members to easily post their books wherever they want. The widget uses a new shelf design that really stands out for those who want to feature their books. You can choose which bookshelf is best for you: solid mahogany, black-stained oak, or a more modern brushed steel and cherry. We've had some fun designing the shelf, so we hope you like it.
Now, we also knew that many bloggers aren't about to put a heavy piece of mahogany on their blog. For those publishers, we give you a simple html list of your books that adapts to your blog's style. You can choose one or more of the following piece of content for your list: titles, authors, book covers, and buy links. Bloggers can, of course, insert their Amazon associates ID and get their cut of book sales.
A few things to point out about this widget
- It's fully configurable from your new My Widgets page, which means that you post it once, then tweak it to your hearts content.
- It support tag shelfs and lists in a much easier-to-use fashion
- You don't need a Shelfari account to get started. Simply start building your bookshelf, customize your shelf or list, and register once you know it's worthwhile.
- Blogger and Typepad users can add the widget with one click.
